The route & itinerary

Sunday 1st November

Arrival

Arrive at the magnificent Matfen Hall in the Northumberland countryside. Arrive by car or via private transfer from Edinburgh or your preferred airport before gathering for a fabulous welcome dinner to begin the tour.

Sporting Day

Our first sporting day takes place on a superb Northumberland estate, offering exceptional pheasant & partridge shooting and exceptional field hospitality. In the evening we return to Matfen Hall for the evening a a night cap by the fire.

Scenic Drive into Yorkshire

Our first grand touring day takes a beautifully scenic route across the Pennines and into the Yorkshire Dales. After a light lunch stop along the way, we arrive at our hotel for the next two nights with time to relax before our private dinner.

Wednesday 4th November

Sporting Day

After breakfast we have a short drive to today’s shoot for a superb day in the field. Once again, brilliant pheasant & partridge drives will be on offer along with more wonderful hospitality in the Yorkshire countryside. Drivers will be available to drive to you and from the shoot location.

Scenic Drive to the Cotswolds

A combination of scenic & fast roads south takes us from Yorkshire towards the Cotswolds. En route an optional stop for lunch at the superb Chatsworth House before continuing to Ellenborough Park for a two-night stay.

Friday 6th November

Sporting Day

Our final sporting day takes place at a renowned shoot in the Cotswolds with more fabulous pheasant & partridge drives on offer. This evening, we celebrate the tour with a farewell dinner and awards ceremony at Ellenborough Park overlooking Cheltenham Racecourse.

How many guests will be on the tour?
To preserve the quality and exclusivity of the experience, places are strictly limited to 9 guns and 18 guests.
Do I need to be an experienced shot to join?
Not at all. The tour is designed for those with some shooting experience, but it is equally suited to seasoned Guns and those looking to enjoy exceptional sporting hospitality in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Can non-shooting guests join the tour?
Absolutely. The Grand Sporting Tour is designed to be enjoyed by both shooting and non-shooting guests alike. With luxury country house hotels, scenic driving routes, fine dining and warm hospitality throughout, companions who do not wish to shoot will still enjoy a superb experience.
Is this a group tour?
Yes. This is a fully hosted group experience, bringing together like-minded guests who share a passion for driving, sporting pursuits and exceptional hospitality.
Is this tour suitable for solo travellers?
